On the evening of 14th January, we at ATC were proud to support Culture Central, AerosolAli (Mohammed Ali), and Birmingham City Council in celebrating 130 years of Birmingham’s city status.
We were asked to provide full technical support, including large-scale projection mapping, lighting, and audio for the Council House in Victoria Square.
Projection Mapping
To create the best possible visual impact, we deployed:
- 3 x Panasonic PT-RZ31K projectors for mapping the building
- Signal control via our Barco S3-4K
- Content playback and mapping managed with our Disguise 4x4pro media server
- Live graffiti projections from AerosolAli’s iPad, adding an interactive creative element
Lighting
The lighting design brought the Council House to life, using:
- 8 x Robe 600E Spots
- 8 x Robe 300E Washes
- 24 x Chauvet Freedom Par Quad-4 IP for ambient lighting around the building entrance
Audio
To deliver rich and immersive sound in Victoria Square, we used:
- 2 x d&b Y-Subs
- 6 x d&b Y8 speakers
- 2 x d&b Y12 speakers
- All powered by 3 x d&b D20 amplifiers
- Audio mixed through a Yamaha QL5 digital mixing console
#brum130 was a vibrant and powerful celebration of Birmingham’s history, and we were honoured to help bring it to life with our full technical support.
