Birmingham

Supporting live event specialists Simply Better, ATC delivered a comprehensive AV solution for a high-impact Provident event held in the Great Hall at Birmingham University.

Main Room – The Great Hall

The event’s primary display was an 8m x 4.5m ground-supported 3.9mm LED wall, positioned on the Great Hall stage.

To complement this, six portrait-format projection screens were creatively placed in alternating spaces between the venue’s columns. Panasonic PT-DZ21K projectors, positioned on the balconies, delivered sharp, vibrant content. All video processing and control was handled via a Christie Spyder X20.

Audio System

The Great Hall featured a 12-speaker d&b PA system paired with:

  • Shure handheld radio mics
  • Shure beltpacks with DPA headset mics
  • Audio Technica hard-wired microphones
  • Yamaha QL5 digital mixing desk with Dante rack, Rio stage box, and CAT 6 cabling — ideal for mixing multiple musical acts

We also provided a range of ancillary music audio equipment, including mics and DI boxes for performers.

Additional Areas

Other AV installations included:

  • d&b PA systems for the Aston Webb reception and marquee outside the Great Hall
  • 55″ LED screens and Prolight SMARTBAT uplighters to enhance atmosphere in both spaces

Conference – Elgar Theatre

The conference segment was hosted in the Elgar Theatre, where ATC supplemented Simply Better’s equipment with:

  • 19 x Chauvet Colorado Tour 72 battens
  • Robe Robin 600E moving spots
  • 42″ LCD screens

Crew

A six-person ATC crew was deployed, covering:

  • Audio
  • Video
  • LED display management
  • Spyder X20 operation

An immersive, multi-space event enhanced by expert AV design and execution — delivered in partnership with Simply Better and supported by ATC.
