What a privilege it was for us to work with our friends at Broadsword and share the red carpet with amazing acting talent at the British Independent Film Awards. As well as providing world-class AV equipment and crew, we also sponsored the event held at Old Billingsgate in London.
The high-profile ceremony celebrates the most shining examples of British independent film. Our brief for this prestigious event included a 20m x 2.5m LED photowall to be built along the red-carpet walkway inside, used by actors such as Stephen Graham, Claire Foy and Jodie Comer. With its small pixel pitch, incredible brightness and brilliant colour reproduction, our Unilumin UPAD IV 2.6mm LED system was the obvious choice.
We supplied all video input and control equipment for the main ceremony, with Dell and Macbook Pro laptops providing graphics support. An event like this needs top-quality cameras and images, and we chose our superb Blackmagic Design URSA G2, Sony PXW-Z280 and Panasonic AW-UE160KEJ8 PTZ cameras to relay the onstage acon. Our brand new Blackmagic Design 4K Portable Producon Unit,
and Barco E2 Gen 2 managed all video inputs and outputs to the three screens hung above the stage, with camera output captured by Blackmagic Design HyperDeck Studio Pro 2 recorders.
Our technical support didn’t stop with the actor’s entrance and awards, we also provided an LED DJ booth system for the after-party. Once again, our Unilumin UPAD IV 2.6mm panels looked amazing as a frontage for the DJ riser, with LED screen behind.
Awesome video animations play a huge part in DJ performances of this type, and our vMix and Resolume systems managed the terrific content playing behind the DJ.
