Location

Twickenham

Twickenham Stadium, the home of England rugby, saw ATC supporting our client CSM and British Airways with equipment for the Six Nations tournament Fan Zone – “The Clubhouse.”

The Setup

The main space in the activation area required screens to enable fans to watch matches. Controlled by Novastar 660 Processors, our Unilumin 2.6mm UPAD III screen performed perfectly. It was hung from a specially designed rigging system, with the main Slick Litebeam structure built outside the marquee and counterbalanced with weights.

An Analog Way Pulse 2 PLS350 handled switching duties, while a Barco Folsom Image Pro II Scan Converter scaled the video content for smooth playback.

Lighting & Audio

Atmospheric lighting was key to the fan experience. Starting with a Pearl Quartz desk, we used:

  • Chauvet EVE E-50Z Profiles
  • Chauvet Ovation F-265WW LED Fresnels to illuminate the bar
  • SGM Q7 LED Floods for house lighting

For audio, a Soundcraft Spirit M12 desk mixed TV broadcast feeds and a Shure Axient radio mic system, output through d&b T10 speakers powered by a D20 amplifier.

Additional Activations

Two more interactive areas were set up outside the main space:

  • Kicking Challenge: A 2m x 1m Unilumin Utile III 3.9mm outdoor screen displayed scores
  • Passing Challenge: Three Panasonic 43″ LED monitors showed results

Connectivity

A crucial requirement for the Fan Zone was WiFi and network connectivity. ATC designed and supplied a full networking solution, including both wired and wireless LAN, to support tills and guest interaction systems throughout the structure.

Final Touches

To complete the experience, SGM Q7 LED Floods were deployed around the exterior of the main event space, programmed in British Airways brand colours for a bold and cohesive look.

The whole space looked and sounded amazing — a fan zone truly worthy of such a great venue and competition.

recent projects

  • Once again, ATC was proud to provide technical and stage support for a televised political debate for ITV — this time for the EU Referendum broadcast from their Westminster studio.

  • The 2024 B-SIDE Hip-Hop Festival gave us the opportunity, for the second year running, to provide technical support for this terrific event.

Stunning audiences with outstanding live events.
