AT Communications Ltd was founded in 1990 by Andrew Thomas, an experienced freelance technician with a clear vision: to provide the very best professional audio visual equipment alongside exceptional technical service. Built on years of hands-on industry experience, ATC quickly established a reputation for delivering outstanding event production with reliability, expertise, and attention to detail at its core.
From the beginning, Andrew’s philosophy was simple — invest in the best equipment, employ the best people, and deliver the best possible experience for every client. That commitment remains central to ATC today.
Over more than three decades, ATC has grown into a leading technical event production and AV hire specialist, supporting event agencies, production companies, and corporate clients across the UK and Europe. Founded
ATC is founded by Andrew Thomas with the ambition to supply the best equipment and deliver exceptional live events for clients and hire companies alike.
1999.
Relocation
The company relocates to larger premises in Sutton Coldfield to support its growing hire inventory and expanding client base.
2008.
Expansion
ATC moves to Tamworth, establishing a new headquarters with expanded office facilities and a 10,000 sq ft warehouse.
2012.
London
ATC launches its London branch, led by James Skidmore, strengthening its presence in the capital.
2018.
Expansion
The London operation expands into larger premises to accommodate continued growth and increased demand.
2020.
Adapting during Covid
During the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, ATC adapts quickly by supporting film productions and virtual events, utilising its extensive LED inventory and technical expertise.
2024.
20,000 sq ft warehouse
Continued expansion leads to a new London facility featuring a 20,000 sq ft warehouse and enhanced operational capacity.
2026.
Belgium
ATC Europe opens in Ghent, Belgium, extending the company’s ability to deliver world-class equipment and event production services across Europe and beyond.
