Apple TV espionage drama “Slow Horses” starring Gary Oldman and Kristin Scott Thomas required LED screens of many shapes and sizes for scenes within the show.The production design used screens as scenic backdrops which had to look perfect as exterior settings. Our Unilumin 2.6mm high resolution panels were a brilliant choice for the high production standards required for the series.

Night-time vehicle scenes needed screens to show still images and video around the outside of the cars on set. Our high resolution, high contrast panels helped to create the effect, aided by NovaStar MCTRL4K screen processors to perfect the images for the cameras.

In the same way we created a huge 18m x 8m curved backdrop for other external shots. This time the screen shone brightly as a panoramic cityscape, through the windows of a mock skyscraper built in the studio.

With over 21 million pixels on display, we supplied a terrific equipment specification to manage and process the scenic stills and video.

A D3 4×4 Pro Media Server stored and played the content. A combination of a Barco E2 4K Switcher and eight NovaStar MCTRL4K screen processors looked after the management of the huge screen.

We had to have a massive stock of LED panels and accessories to fulfil the needs of the production. At ATC we have more than enough to cope.

A total of 608 Unilumin panels took their place on set, with over 1,300 cables. Add to those 150m of screen support structure and five tonnes of screen counter-weight.
